Is ESG reporting mandatory for my business?
Direct CSRD reporting obligations apply mainly to large and listed companies, phased in over several years. Most SMEs are not directly obligated — but are increasingly asked to provide ESG evidence by the large companies and banks they work with, which makes it a commercial requirement even without a legal one.
What is EcoVadis and do I need it?
EcoVadis is a commercial sustainability-rating platform, not a government body — many multinational buyers require suppliers to hold a score on it. If a specific client asks for it, the underlying evidence (environmental policy, labour practices, ethics, sustainable procurement) overlaps heavily with what ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 37001 already document.
Do I need a full ISO certification, or just the reporting?
It depends on who is asking. A client questionnaire may accept documented policies and data alone; a formal tender requirement or bank programme may specifically ask for certification. We assess what your specific case actually requires before recommending the full certification route.
